Your New Service Line: What to Expect
Once we have received your application, a confirmation will be sent to the email address provided. Our next steps include:
- Application review
- Design, planning, and costing
- Scheduling
- Constructing and inspecting your service line

Complete Your Connection with a Natural Gas Meter
Once your service line is installed, you’ll need to apply for a natural gas meter. This application must be submitted by you or a certified gas fitter. This ensures your service is safely connected and ready for use.

Please note, location of the new service line, site readiness, weather, and time of year can all significantly affect how quickly we can complete your request. We strive to get you connected as soon as possible.
Yes. To ensure we are able to install new service lines quickly, we use an online system to process all applications.
Costs vary based on location and site needs. Our Standard Contribution Rates, effective January 1, 2026, are:
- Town $0
- Rural Subdivision $609 + GST
- Other $6,588 + GST
These rates are subject to change with Alberta Utilities Commission approval.
In some cases, an additional non-standard contribution may be required to provide you with service. We will always notify you of the amount and request payment before proceeding.
